Montreal-based digital manufacturing platform Vention is often referred to as the future of machine design. The company has now raised a significant round of financing that brings them one step closer to building that future.
Led by Bain Capital Ventures, Vention announced a $17M CAD Series A round. With approximately $60 billion of assets under management worldwide, this marks the first time the California based VC fund writes a cheque to a Montreal-based company. Vention says the investment will accelerate the development of its cloud-based Machine Builder 3D software, expand its hardware library, and bring innovation to other factory automation solutions.
Previous Vention investors include White Star Capital, Bolt, and Real Ventures. The company was founded in 2016 and is located in the south-west borough on rue Dagenais.
